Corvera Airport continues the upgrades with new toilets for ostomy patients
The Region of Murcia International Airport has put in brand-new loos adapted for people with ostomy bags
Regional travel hub the Murcia International Airport in Corvera now has toilets adapted for people with an ostomy bag to change in an effort to modernise the installations and make them more friendly for people with alternative needs.
Specifically, there are two new toilets – one for men and one for women – located in the boarding area.
According to airport manager Aena, “These toilets have a sanitary device located at a suitable height, a bag rinser (small-calibre hand-held shower connected to the water), soap and toilet paper dispenser, a counter for the support of material for changing and a hanger for bags or clothes.”
These kind of toilets with facilities specifically aimed at those who have to change or empty ostomy bags are becoming ever more common in Murcia, with Yecla recently installing them at their market and Águilas having them on the Playa del Poniente beach.
The latest specialist toilets at the airport come shortly after the duty-free area was given an overhaul, making it bigger and better placed to try to drag in more shoppers coming straight out of the security control.
Aena says the new ostomy-adapted toilets are “part of the Murcian airport’s quality plan and aim to create friendlier and more comfortable spaces for travellers with ostomies, as a result of Aena's commitment to diversity and universal accessibility.”

Shuttle bus connecting Corvera Airport with key destinations
Started on May 22, 2025, Airport Buses has a daily shuttle transfer service connecting the Region of Murcia International Airport with key destinations across Murcia, southern Alicante and Almería, every time there is a direct flight between Corvera Airport and a destination in the UK or Ireland, plus selected European flights.Three initial routes serve:
