Weather warnings extended in Murcia as strong winds expected over the next few days

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has extended its yellow-level warning for adverse weather conditions due to strong wind and high waves into this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday along the coast of Murcia.

On Wednesday January 21, the entire coastline of the Region of Murcia will be under a yellow warning from 8pm until midnight for strong northwesterly winds of up to 50-60kmh and waves as high as 3 metres due to a northeasterly swell.

There are also scattered showers forecast around the Region for Wednesday.

On Thursday 22, the same stretch of coastline, along with many other inland parts surrounding the Region of Murcia, will be under a yellow warning from midnight until 4am for the same strong winds of up to 50-60kmh and waves as high as 3 metres.

In other parts of Spain, mainly along the northern coast of Galicia, red alerts have been issued for more serious wind and rain conditions.

On Friday 23, the Murcia weather alert is once again limited to just the Campo de Cartagena area of coast, from 6pm to midnight. On this day, the wind comes accompanied by rain and thunderstorms that are forecast to cover the entire Region.
