Aguilas beaches: Playa del Barranco de la Mar
An isolated beach among the cliffs of the Eastern Aguilas coastline
The beach of Playa del Barranco de la Mar, is close to the Todosol residential development, and lies at the bottom of the steep cliffs on the seaward side of the built-up area. Todosol is signposted on the RM-D14 on the way out of the town of Águilas heading eastwards, shortly before the fork in the road offers motorists the option of heading right on the RM-D15 towards Calabardina.
The beach is 60 metres long and 35 metres wide, and the surface is a mixture of sand and pebbles. There are no facilities here due to its location and difficulty of access
The 28-kilometre coastline of Águilas contains a total of 36 officially listed beaches, and this is one of a series of barely accessible coves which are dotted along the black cliffs which characterize the shoreline between the Isla del Fraile and Calabardina. Few people visit them on account of the difficulty or reaching them, although they are popular among those who choose to explore the coast of Águilas by boat.
This is the 19th beach in the series of 36 Águilas beaches which run along the 28 kilometres of Águilas coast, working from the Almería coastline in the west down to the Lorca municipality and offer both urban and wild beaches.
