Andalucía and Murcia lead Spain's fruit exports
Murcia supplies a fifth and Andalucía a third of 2025 total
Spain shipped 12 million tons of fresh fruits and vegetables overseas in 2025, with Andalucía providing a third of the total and the Region of Murcia chipping in a solid one-fifth. Figures from the Department of Customs and Special Taxes, crunched by Fepex (Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables), show Andalucía comes in at first place while Murcia punching at third among regions.Nationally exports actually dipped 4% from 2024 levels. Yet the value told a brighter story, climbing 2% to €3,489 million for Murcia and €18,666 million across Spain. Europe scooped up 97% of everything, while imports rose 3% in volume and 8% in cash terms.
It's heartening to see local growers holding strong. "20% of the fresh fruits and vegetables exported by Spain in 2025 came from the Region of Murcia," Fepex highlighted, underscoring the region's orchard backbone. Those lemons, tomatoes, peppers and melons keep tables stocked from Paris to Berlin.
For anyone savouring either Andalucía’s or Murcia's bounty at home or spotting it in foreign supermarkets, these numbers mean jobs stay local and quality shines. A slight volume dip? Prices held firm, so farmers ended the year smiling. With Europe so hungry for Spanish produce, 2026 looks promising too.
