Audio guide tour of the church of San Patricio IN ENGLISH
Visit and learn about the former Collegiate Church of San Patricio at your own pace
Among the many tourist sights in Lorca one of the most popular is the former Collegiate Church of San Patricio, where both visitors and locals can enjoy the architectural, historical and artistic heritage of the city every day of the week except on Mondays through visits in which audio guides are available in Spanish, English and French.
These audio guides can be used with handsets or through a QR code on smartphones.
The tour includes both the exterior of the building and the interior, where visitors can see the main altar, the pulpit, the chapel of the Virgen del Alcázar, the tower, the sacristy and the crypt.
This tour has helped boost visitor numbers at what is widely considered to be the second most important church in the Region of Murcia (after the Cathedral of Murcia), and is, along with the Palacio de Guevara, one of the unquestioned highlights of a tour of the old centre of Lorca.
The audio guide is included in the admission price, and is a comprehensive account of the history of the building and the most salient features inside. The level of English is generally very good, although with a couple of "unusual" pronunciations (look out for "burial"!), and for most visitors the detailed catalogue of all the religious artwork in the building is likely to be a little surplus to requirements. However, these very minor shortcomings should not be allowed to detract from its usefulness.
Visiting times are as follows:
Tuesday to Thursday: 11.00 to 14.00
Friday and Saturday: 11.00 to 14.30 and 16.00 to 18.00
Last admission 30 minutes before closing time.
Admission 6 euros (5 euros for those entitled to discounts, including over 65s)
Groups of over 15 people: 4 euros per head
Bookings can be made by email to sanpatricio@artisplendore.com.

When visiting Lorca one of your first ports of call should be the tourist office in the Palacio de Guevara (telephone 968 441914, email lorcaturismo@lorca.es).
