Bovine sunbathers cause a stir on the Playa de Bolonia in Tarifa
At the huge rural beach of Playa de Bolonia in Tarifa, in the province of Cádiz, it is not unheard of for cows from the neighbouring pasture land to make their way down to the sand in cool weather, but on Monday one of the herd surprised summer bathers by taking her calf down to the shoreline to cool down.
Perhaps keen not to disturb the sunbathers, the cow calmly made her way to the only sunshade which was not being used before slumping down onto the beach and relaxing. Needless to say, the incident attracted the attention of the humans occupying the beach at the time, and numerous images and videos have been posted on social network sites: the one shown comes from Sentir Taurino.
As can be seen, the mother and calf belong to the distinctive “retinta” breed which clearly is in no need of topping up its tan, and no doubt this explains the animals’ preference for a shady spot on the Playa de Bolonia.
