DoubleTree by Hilton at La Torre Golf Resort chosen as an official training base for 2030 World Cup
The well-equipped DoubleTree by Hilton at La Torre Golf Resort joins Pinatar Arena, Grand Hyatt La Manga Club, and Alhama Arena to be sub-venues in the Region of Murcia for the 2030 World Cup
The DoubleTree by Hilton at La Torre Golf Golf Resort has been selected as an official base or training camp for teams competing in the 2030 World Cup as announced on July 19 by RFEF the Spanish Football Federation.
The RFEF also confirmed the 11 stadiums that will host matches in the tournament. Unfortunately, the Real Murcia, Enrique Roca Stadium was finally left out.
Four training centres in the Region of Murcia will be sub-venues for the 2030 World Cup, the facilities of La Torre Golf de Roldán, Grand Hyatt La Manga Club, Pinatar Arena and the Alhama Arena (Due to be completed at the end of 2025) could host base camps and training sessions of some national teams.
The DoubleTree by Hilton at La Torre Golf Resort, Roldán has two natural high quality turf pitches (105m x 62m) and a myriad of football training facilities and equipment, already offering organised training camps and is managed by the nearby Pinatar Arena. With the premium quality DoubleTree Resort and Spa on site the venue could prove very attractive to prospective teams.
After the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, the 2030 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Spain, Morocco and Portugal. Spain will have eleven venues, Morocco six and Portugal three, complying with FIFA’s regulations of presenting a maximum of 20 stadiums, the RFEF said in its announcement. “The stadiums that will host matches of the 2030 World Cup will be Anoeta (Donostia-San Sebastián), Camp Nou (Barcelona), Gran Canaria (Las Palmas), La Cartuja (Seville), La Rosaleda (Málaga), Metropolitano (Madrid), Nueva Romareda (Zaragoza), RCDE Stadium (Barcelona, Cornellá-El Prat), Riazor (A Coruña), San Mamés (Bilbao) and Santiago Bernabéu (Madrid).
Although RFEF has chosen the training camps, the venues will have to go through a direct evaluation process by FIFA and it is then up to the qualifying country’s football associations to select which venue it wishes to use.
