Experienced criminals arrested for burglaries in Puerto de Mazarrón

An investigation by Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia has detained two experienced criminals on suspicion of burgling a garage and a restaurant in Puerto de Mazarrón.
Last month, the force received several phone calls reporting burglaries at the underground car park of an apartment block, where two vehicles had been broken into and a third had been damaged.
Investigating officers gathered evidence from the scene of the crime, along with images from the building’s security cameras.
In one of the videos, the officers saw a young man, who was bare-chested, taking advantage of a vehicle entering the garage to follow it inside. He then walked around the cars parked in there until he had picked his targets.
As the investigation progressed, another burglary was reported, this time at a restaurant, which seemed to have been committed by the same young man.
The person in the video from the garage also seemed to be one of the two people who appeared in the security camera footage from the restaurant.
In that recording, two young men could be seen forcing their way into different rooms of the establishment, from where they stole a hi-fi system, drinks and a pressure washer machine.
Thanks to tips gathered from members of the public, the Guardia Civil were able to determine that the suspects lived in Mazarrón and already had long criminal records.
Officers who were posted in the coastal area, in order to guard against further burglaries and look for the suspects, eventually managed to track them down.
The operation concluded with the arrests of two men, aged 20 and 24, on suspicion of burglary with forced entry and criminal damage.
