Mazarrón Police, N332 group and Car Registrations Spain hold driving information event on Camposol
The information sharing event was arranged by Mazarrón Policía Local, Mazarrón Council and part of the N332 Summer Road trip at Marianos Restaurant, Camposol
Lots of useful information was available at the event organised by Mazarrón Local Police and Mazarrón Council in conjuction with the N332 group, which is a collection of police officers who run a Facebook page and hold events, focused at non-Spaniards in Spain. The event was held at Marianos Restaurant, Camposol Sector A on October 30.
The event was well attended and opened by a Mazarrón Police Officer who invited the British Vice Consul from Alicante, Sara Munsterhjelm to address the gathering. The Vice Consul thanked all those concerned for offering such important information on driving laws and road safety in Spain, she also took the opportunity to urge all British citizens residing in Spain who had not obtained their TIE identity card to do so as a matter of urgency, particularly with the soon to be introduced Entry/Exit System (EES) at airports and border controls.
The Mazarrón Councillor for Camposol, Carmen Navarro and Deputy Mayor, Jesús García both addressed the meeting thanking all those attending and praising the community spirit the meeting engendered, also commending the organisers and speakers for making the useful information available.
The information part of the meeting then took place with Jenny from ‘Car Registrations Spain’ and Elliot from ‘A Place in the Sun Currency’, giving explanations and tips on Spanish road safety laws, driving legislation and regulations regarding driving non-Spanish cars in Spain.
There was also a demonstration with voluteers from the audience who wore specially designed googles which imitated the effects of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol, showing the effects even small amounts of these sudbstances can adversely affect balance and special awareness which inturn can have a detrimental effect on driving capabilities.
A representative of the N332 gave further information and reminded the audience that all the information spoken about at the event and more could be found on the N332 Facebook page.
The meeting was then paused for coffee and to give people a chance to speak to the speakers and representatives on hand about issues that had been raised during the presentation.
The meeting was then resumed outside where Mazarrón Police officers from the canine division and their dogs performed a demonstration of their skills.
