October 22 Free guided night hike on the Talayón Costa Cálida Región de Murcia
The highest point in the Sierra de la Almenara between Lorca and Águilas stands at 879 metres above sea level
The Talayón is the highest point in the mountains of the Sierra de la Almenara between Lorca and Águilas and reaches an altitude of 879 metres above sea level, and this hike follows a route up to the top after a coachload of walkers leave from the fishing port of Águilas outside the Casa del Mar at 19.00.
The walk is a particularly popular one on account of the panoramic views from the summit, looking out over Morata and the Mediterranean, although given the time of day of this event it is unlikely to provide many photo opportunities!
Registration for the free hike is at the Casa de la Juventud Capri on weekdays between 9.00 and 14.00 and on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 17.00 to 20.00. Alternatively, a registration form can be downloaded here and, when completed, sent by email to informajoven@ayuntamientodeaguilas.org.
If visiting Águilas your first port of call should be the local tourist office (click here for map, telephone 968 493285, email turismo@aguilas.es).
For more local events, news and visiting information go to the home page of Águilas Today.
