The most famous of these are probably the three championship golf courses, but the football centre has also attracted some of the best-known teams in the world, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Chelsea Sports overview La Manga Cluband the Spanish and English national squads. The football centre also serves for other sports such as rugby, hockey and cricket: among the coaches running cricket schools here has been renowned fast bowling coach Ian Pont.

Walking, running and road and mountain biking are also available, with information and suggestions supplied by the Independent Activity Centre in the resort, and there is a diving centre in Las Lomas.
