Up to 34 degrees this weekend: Murcia weather forecast May 23-26
We’re starting to get into that summer territory in Murcia when the days are regularly hotter than 30ºC
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia, Sunday May 19
The temperatures are due to shoot up this weekend in the south of Spain, bringing highs during the day of up to 34ºC in Alhama de Murcia and parts of central Murcia.
The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) says that over the course of the weekend, it will get progressively hotter, especially in the central, inland parts of the Region of Murcia, to reach the aforementioned highs on Sunday May 26.
On the coast it will be a bit cooler, staying around 26ºC in Cartagena and Águilas, but possibly even reaching 30ºC in Mazarrón.
The nights will also be mild, with temperatures at the coldest point of the day not dropping below the mid-teens.
While it will be a sunny weekend, there will be plenty of cloudy intervals, and Aemet has said it is “not ruling out isolated and occasional showers” in the northwestern mountains of Murcia.
They also warn that they is a “slight chance of suspended dust on the coast,” meaning the south of the Region could be in for some hazy, calima conditions.
Windspeeds will be light, never surpassing 15-20kmh and staying more around the 5-10kmh range in most places.
