May 10-11: Cartagena transforms into a slice of Japan this May
This year's Cartagena Manga Fair will bring Japanese culture to the city for a weekend of anime, cosplay, and more…
Manga and anime fans are in for a treat in a few weeks as Cartagena once again plays host to the XI Manga Fair 'Cartagena se Remanga' on Saturday May 10 and Sunday May 11 2025. The event has been organised by the Cartagena City Council and the Murcia se Remanga Association, and is expected to attract around 10,000 visitors eager to celebrate Japanese pop culture.
The fair will take place at the Wssell Pavilion in Guimbarda, running from 10.00am to 9.00pm on the Saturday and from 10.00am to 8.00pm on the Sunday. Tickets are already on sale and are available online at www.cartagenaseremanga.es.
Over the course of the weekend, attendees can enjoy a packed programme featuring workshops, concerts, exhibitions, dance performances, video games and cosplay contests – everything you´d expect from a major event. So, whether you’re a die-hard anime fan, a casual manga reader, or just curious about Japanese culture, there’s something for everyone.
This year's official event poster, which captures the essence of the event, was designed by illustrator Calona Sugar.
